Strong Mind Equals a Powerful Life – Post 338

Strong Mind

LIVE STRONG!

Life is full of wonders.

Things happen in life that are out of our control. Some are good, some others are bad and they inflict happiness or pain in our hearts. If we haven’t built a strong mind we might react in a negative way and feel like we are losing control of our lives when they affected us with harm.

Fear, doubt and worry are feelings that could help you evolve and conquer, or destroy you in the heat of the moment.  When the going gets tough, it takes a special kind of mental toughness to fight those emotions. You need a personal reminder to strengthen your mind, because no matter how great the challenge, your  can be greater.

Albert Einstein explain in this quote what a powerful mind can do to your well-being, your health and even your wealth:

A Lee Boyd Malvo quote:

Mind over matter. Weak minded people are easily influenced. Powerful minded people you can’t break their will.    — Lee Boyd Malvo

That is why is so important that we refresh our mind day by day with positive thoughts, beautiful images, proper information, joy and gratitude. There is a lot of truth to what it has been said about «peace of mind».

A mind in peace can function and accumulate better thoughts than a mind in constant battle and disarray. Consequently that mind will make better decisions, decisions that will influence positively once life.

Remember now: Build a strong mind to have a powerful life!

Beautiful Sunday Morning Enjoying 3 days of Rain

A SUNDAY TO RELAX AND ENJOY LIFE!

Beautiful Sunday Morning

This Sunday is just gorgeous. My vegetables plants, bulbs, limes, lemons orange and mandarin trees are full with fruit and rain drops on their leaves.

It is winter but my tomatoes are enchanting! Something I notice this season is that they are bigger and sweeter. I wonder. Maybe it’s because I used my own compost last year, since april I started creating my own compost and started using it in the fall with my tomatoes and citrus.

The branches are so heavy they are bending down, that’s why I had to get some bamboo pieces to straighten them up. It was so much fun to do it. The smell of the wet dirt with the one coming from the wet oranges and limes, it’s  just to die for!

When I am not out cycling on the weekend, I love to take care of my plants. I have so many and in Winter I have as much work to do in the yard as in Spring and Summer, because I have to plant carrots, onion, garlic, etc., and I need to start preparing the dirt and seeds for the coming planting season and for Spring.

Nature is amazing, isn’t it?

I have always loved nature. Call it forest, oceans, animals, humans, lakes, air, sun, stars and anything beyond earth; micro and macro-systems, ecosystems. Breathing life, constantly, living the moment fully, integrating my thoughts with nature to feel myself alive, and not alone.

In Extremis: The Life and Death of the War Correspondent Marie Colvin

Marie Colvin, the headmost war reporter of her generation was killed in Syria in 2012 at age 56 by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device). The world of journalism lost a great and iconoclastic correspondent, a fearless female who covered  the most destructive global calamities of our times.

She lost an eye when she was reporting in Sri Lanka at the end of the civil war. She interviewed Gaddafi twice, and risked her life covering conflict in Chechnya, East Timor, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, and Zimbabwe.

Her personal life was highly interesting as it was her professional one: extremely motivated, bold and unpredictable. She married several times, drank heavily, suffered from PTSD and never allowed anyone to box her into what society expects from women’s roles.

What is the Difference Between Forgetting and Alzheimer’s Disease?

Forgetting or forgetfulness can be very scary for some people, especially if it becomes frequent in patients younger than 65. When you live a life plagued with stress your mind starts to give more importance to those things that cause you to worry the most.

You start to forget where you left the keys, the wallet, the pen, etc. But even if the patient is 65 or older when s/he commences to be forgetful, it doesn’t mean s/he has Alzheimer’s Disease. Anxiety and depression can mimic dementia. If you are a young adult, in your twenties or thirties and you are not eating well, you drink alcohol excessively, smoke and don’t exercise regularly, you might experience «forgetfulness due to extreme stress».

Patients with Alzheimer tend to repeat themselves because they lose their short memory especially in the early stage. They forget recently learned information like dates or events, asking for the same information over and over.

Patients are frequently misdiagnosed in several medical areas, a mental illness is one of them. That is why it is very important to have the right knowledge about it and the most innovated equipment in this age of technology. IQuity is tackling Alzheimer’s biomarkers using the «Machine Learning» (yes, machine learning not learning machine) that uses artificial intelligence.

If you are concerned about yourself or a loved one, do not hesitate to consult with your doctor as soon as possible.

Remember that prevention is the key for a healthier, happier and longer life — Dr. Martha A. Castro N., MD

The Empowerment of Women Now

Empowering girls and women is powerful. Today, we know it is the key to economic growth, political stability, and social transformation. World leaders, experts and scholars alike are giving their voice to this critical endeavor.

Astonishingly, the exact opposite is true on the ground. Rather than uplifting and empowering girls and women as the most powerful force for transformation and progress, horrific violence is perpetrated against them…every minute, every hour, every day.

I don’t care about the sad opinion of chauvinist men. I could care less about the opinion of women who protect this abusive behavior in men. They are worthless to  me and they’ve always been. That is why I am so successful and ahead of many men. In fact, I am an entrepreneur who employs men. In my companies men and women are treated equally and paid equally, according to their capabilities and knowledge.

Now, I want to use this will in me, my own empowerment, my success, my knowledge, to help young girls and women to let them know that they are not alone and that they can become stronger, better and succeed just because we deserve it, no matter what others say.
