Thursday Facts Let Us Think A Little?: Religion And Science

RELIGION AND SCIENCE ARE INCOMPATIBLE

They’re incompatible, because they both compete to find truths about the universe and life itself. There are some fundamental truths that believers have to accept in order to be religious. Scientists do not have to accept anything in order to be researchers, just observe, follow the scientific method and prove the fact. Religion is based on believes, not facts.

Saturday Night For The Freethinker: The Right To Question Everything

It’s our responsibility as conscientious human beings with a heathy brain to question everything. This is how we inform ourselves, grow, evolve, and get smarter everyday.

Many people are so gullible that tend to believe everything that is fed to them through MSM, social media, politics, religion, etc. And they follow like sheep. One of the main problems I have noticed is the mental fanaticism and radicalism in people.

It is my opinion that no matter if someone believes with fanaticism in any god or behaves like an atheist zealot, then that person tend to absorbe the wrong information, create false thoughts, and make wrong decisions.

There are many religions that oppress, spread fear or hope (heaven or hell for example), to control and stop you from questioning their beliefs, and make you follow. Atheists extremists can be a pain in the buttocks too. They think that they are always right because they support their lack of belief on science (evolution).

So you see, having an open mind and being more of a centrist, a free thinker, is always a more conscientious way to live without causing damage to yourself or others.

Titled like that, because of a whole load of work, it was impossible for me to make a post yesterday. But, it’s better later than never, isn’t it?

Saturday Night For The Free Thinkers: Let Us Think A Little?

In this gorgeous Saturday night, peaceful, with the sky so clear that I can see Jupiter and Saturn without binoculars, waiting for the Great Conjunction to happen on December 21th, 2020, this thought came to my mind: I cannot believe for the life of me that there are still apologetics for Creationism and Religion fanatics in this world of ours.

It is just logical. Using a little bit of math, simple mathematics. Nothing extreme, no rocket science involved:

Saturday Night For The Free Thinker: Carl Sagan (Part 1) Questioning Religion

I love Carl Sagan scientific life. He was a scientist who, despite his passing on December 20, 1996 keeps on educating us with his intellectual abilities and philosophical analysis on life.

Books, articles, journals signed by several Nobel Prize winners, conferences about science, astrophysics, astronomy, philosophy and more.

Carl Sagan was a passionate advocate of scientific and critical thinking.

«The major religions on the Earth contradict each other left and right. You can’t all be correct. And what if all of you are wrong? It’s a possibility, you know. You must care about the truth, right? Well, the way to winnow through all the differing contentions is to be skeptical. I’m not any more skeptical about your religious beliefs than I am about every new scientific idea I hear about. But in my line of work, they’re called hypotheses, not inspiration and not revelation.» —— Carl Sagan

Saturday Night For The Free Thinker: War Is Peace «They» Say

Along the way I have questioned and answered some queries that have satisfied my curiosity. And still, I am willing to change my mind if they are refuted with intelligence.

For example, I am extremely offended by some of the things that are written in the Bible and the Qua’ran and other religious books or booklets.

But more offended I am by the people who defend those biblical assertions and permissions to commit horrible crimes against humanity. I condemn and reject those writings.

Because humanity doesn’t deserve to be confused and abused by the fairies, by organized religions that all they do is to cause harm and false sense of morality.

Saturday Night For The Free Thinker: Just Because I Feel Like It

Think and express your thoughts, but if they are contradicted do not feel defensive. Everybody is allowed to express his/her opinion, even when it opposes ours.

INSTEAD: LEARN from that opinion. It will make you grow and think smarter.

Yes, because us, the free thinkers, question everything and worship nothing. Always, accumulation of ideas and thoughts. Wonderful world in my mind!

This is one of my favorite comparison images of free thinkers from a religious fanatics. And so true!

Thinking requires the utilization of the brain in a coherent manner, scientifically if possible, but everyone can do this, in philosophy, art, sports, gardening, carpentry, in every profession and activity we practice.

Saturday Night For The Free Thinker: Believing In The Unproven God Helps To Be Happy?

I don’t eat peanut butter. I find it repulsive and will go out of my way to not eat things with peanut butter.

People have often told me that I’m missing out. That food is so much better with peanut butter. “You’ve never had a Reese’s Cup? Or a PB&J? How can you be happy without having had peanut butter?”

The answer is, I’m plenty happy because it’s not important to me. It’s not something I require. I had my taste and quickly realized that I wasn’t missing out at all.

When someone asks “Can you be happy without believing in God?” what they’re really saying is “I don’t think I could be happy without believing in God.”

They’re projecting their feelings about religion onto others. They’re assuming their experiences are the only experiences.

We all do it to some extent, but it’s important to recognize that just because someone requires god to be happy, that doesn’t mean that others do. I’m actually happier not believing in a god? What if I asked the militant religious: how you could be happy while believing in God?

People might think that’s funny. That it seems obvious how believing in God makes them happier.

god peanut butter dra martha castro mexico

It’s the same for me. Of course I’m happy without believing in a god—and why couldn’t you be?

God is a PB&J and I don’t need either of them to be happy. Well, actually PB&J is real. I just don’t like it.

But that’s just me.
