Terrible Fire Consuming Notre Dame Cathedral – A #380

I had the joy to have visited the Notre Dame Cathedral in 2005, 2012 and 2017. Now, I find out through breaking news that this iconic building which began being built in the XII century, in 1163 and finished in 1345 (it took almost 200 years for its final construction) is being burnt during remodeling.

Needless to say that all my family, my daughter and our extended family are with the French people and Parisians.

REPORT EXCERPT 

 

A fire has engulfed the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, one of the city’s most iconic sights.

The fire began at 6:50 p.m. local time Monday, the Paris fire department said, and continued to burn hours later.

 

 

 

A French firefighter official told reporters the main structure of the cathedral has been saved and the two iconic main towers are intact and have been saved as well.

French Mayor Anne Hidalgo said that authorities were evacuating people from buildings in the area — including homes close to the cathedral.

L’incendie est parti peu avant 19 heures dans les combles du monument historique le plus visité d’Europe. Après quatre heures de lutte, les pompiers semblent maîtriser les flammes.

Les deux tours de la cathédrale sont sauvées, mais deux tiers de la toiture sont ravagés. Emmanuel Macron, qui a reporté à mardi son allocution, s’est rendu sur place.

De Washington à Berlin, partout l’émotion est grande.

The series of caves known as Cuevas de Nerja, above, close to the pretty seaside town of the same name was discovered by boys bunking off school in the 1950s. 

Reaching for almost three miles, they are like giant subterranean cathedrals. Be warned, it can be steep inside.

One of España’s most unique eating experiences has to be having your food cooked right on top of an active volcano. Restaurante el Diablo – Devil’s Restaurant – is located in the Timanfaya National Park in Lanzarote and cooks its meat and vegetable dishes in the geothermal heat of the volcano.

 

THE SECOND LARGEST CHAIR IN THE WORLD 😮 😻

 

 

Perhaps one of the most random entries on the list is the world’s second-largest chair in the town of Lucena, near Córdoba. España briefly succeeded with this eight-storey high, over 26-metre creation, but was soon cruelly pipped to first place by an Austrian chair.

HARBIN ICE SNOW IN CHINA

Harbin Ice and Snow fiesta is China’s original and greatest ice artwork festival, attracting hundreds of thousands of local people and visitors from all over the world.

The first Ice lanterns were a winter-time tradition in northeast China. During the Qing Dynasty（1644 – 1911), the locals and fishermen often made and used ice lanterns as jack-lights during the winter months.

At that time these were made simply by pouring water into a bucket that was then put out in the open to freeze. It was then gently warmed before the water froze completely so that the bucket-shaped ice could be pulled out.

RIO DE JANEIRO

The awesome celebrations  of this county mark the start of the Lent period, dancers and revellers celebrate the occasion with colourful street parties.

Considered one of the biggest carnivals in the world, Brazil erupted in magnificent colours and samba parade.

Dancers performed on top of monumental floats, and orchestras and musicians played samba music for all to enjoy.

ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL BALLOON

The Fiesta continues for nine days, and you can enjoy various musical performances, see night glows in which the balloons propane burners are ignited, but the hot air balloons are tethered to the ground.

I am rating these ones with 5 stars based on my own personal traveling and use of them this year.

1. The Schlosshotel Velden hotel in Austria offer a superb view of Lake Woerthersee, also a fantastic SPA resort that will surpass the expectations of even the most seasoned resort connoisseur. It offers glamorous and comfortable rooms with tradition and modernity, the Schloss Hotel Velden receives me and my family with exquisite personalised service.

2. The Grand Mercure Rio de Janeiro Riocentro hotel has rooms elegantly styled with wooden furniture and contemporary decor. The conference auditorium is for business or education is elegant and comfortable with computers at the service of the attendees.

3. The Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach is affordable for the luxury and comfort it offers to its guests. The best of times in Dubai you will have if you stay here.

4. The Royal Palm in the Galapagos Islands and their staff exceeded our expectations of fun and adventure, coordinating 3 boat trips and 3 land trips. The food was very good, and when we were unable to make it back for a meal, they coordinated with a restaurant in town for our meal. This was unexpected. Our kids enjoyed the grounds and being somewhat away from everything allowed them to run around and enjoy the facilities.

5. The Intercontinental Alpensia Pyeongchang Resort in South Korea knows how to give pleasure to its customers. We found peace and fun at the same time depending on the place and activity. We stayed here for 7 nights and we loved it! We loved everything about the suite. The bed was super comfy. The shower and the bathroom were superb. We loved the breakfast too. Lots of choices, western and Korean.

Traveling Finding Amazing Homes Around the World

Amazing artistic architects create homes that are unique wonders around the world. The singular winsomeness of these structures are mind and eye captivating.

Some of them might look uncomfortable or rustic, but they have the most modern technology and ample spaces to perform any activity within the house. The bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms of these houses are enormous.

For example, the retro design of the first house image (the Flintstones Cave house) is most certainly not stuck in the past. It comes with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, a large television area, a spacious kitchen and fully working WI-FI.

The second image is the Star Trek House. It is designed with the interior of the Star Trek Voyager spaceship, complete with LED lighting and intergalactic sound effects.

My Own Poem To Music and Earth

From November 30 to December 2nd the greatest exponents of this fantastic musical genre jazz enlightened a part of earth and its inhabitants with celestial musical notes, with magisterial interpretations that took the listeners to the highest levels of heaven on earth. The joy in each assistant was obvious.

We could feel each note penetrating our soul with tenderness sometimes, others, with majestic savage rhythm, making us gleeful in the middle of paradise, the sea waves sound seemed to touch the music coming out the instruments and vocal cords of the musicians and singers. The palm trees were dancing to this marry-making of glorious sounds.

What a celebration to life this was

Ireland is a great country to visit or to make it your home permanently. It is a wonderful place in the world, it robs your soul completely with its fantastic paradises, nature and the warmth of its people. If you plan to go there you have to stay for at least 3 or 4 weeks to really explore and enjoy the most you can without rushing. You might want to stay in Ireland forever!
