  1. There is a good Ted talk about stress
Apparently if you view it as a healthy thing, you are less likely to die than those who think stress will kill you.

    1. Well, my article is referring to anger, not stress, which is indeed different. One can be stressed about something but not angry and viceversa.
Anger is a compilation of several emotions and feelings of annoyance, belligerence, hostility, rage, wrath, ire,
Stress is some kind of change in someone’s life that causes mental and/or physical strain. But stress in short bursts can be positive, to get you out of danger, for example.

  2. I think the symptoms for stress and anger are quite similar and will have the same effect on the body. They both employ the fight or flight response. But then anger and stress are going to put you in the grave early if you let them. You see a lot of this on the roads (Usually BMW drivers) and you know that if they don’t cause a multiple pile up, their blood pressure is going to kill them.

At the end of the day, there are things in our life that we do not have control over. In fact,, the whole issue of control is an illusion. So it is better to just get on with life, rather than wasting energy and emotion on things that you are much better finding solutions for, or avoiding, rather than just raging or worrying about.

  3. Thank you for this interesting article about anger. I have a friend who «saw red» every time she got angry. When someone was rude in the store or her daughter told a lie about her whereabouts, she got angry. She held it inside and would then get a migraine. Her doctor told her she needed to control her anger at situations or she could get a stroke.
Thank you for making us aware of the dangers of getting angry.
