Exotic Tropical Fruit Of The Week: Lucuma

Lucuma is a very exotic tropical fruit from Peru. This is the tree I cut my first Lucuma in Peru.

The flavor is unique and sweet. This is how it looks inside…yummy!

For some people is so sweet they rather use it in other things, like cakes, pies, pastries, puddings, ice creams, juices, and other things.

Actually, my first time learning about it was in a local Starbucks…in Peru.

This is how Peruvians sell Lucuma fruit in their markets. So tropical and deliciously colorful!

      4. This is my truth: LOVE Summer and heat. Don’t like cold. BUT, good thing about cold for me that I love planting seeds and bulbs, it’s that some veggies like potatoes, garlic amongst others, they do great in Winter. So, I don’t like cold for myself, but my yard loves some cold.
        Do you know that grapes actually need to go through a very cold winter to give lots of fruit in Spring and Fall in my area? I am in zone 8.

      5. Mine too!!!!! But you’re sooo right the vegggies and bulbs are soooo much happier like that. I planted a hand full of stuff.
        Oh yes, indeed tis true.. you are def in the burrrr climate. so impressive how you work your garden in the winter!!! ❤️👏👏👏👏
