In these difficult times that humanity is going through, we all need to be inspired and motivated. We need to hear messages of hope and wisdom.

I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor
That’s not my business
I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone
I should like to help everyone if possible
Jew, Gentile, Black Man, White
We all want to help one another, human beings are like that
We want to live by each other’s happiness, not by each other’s misery
We don’t want to hate and despise one another.

And this world has room for everyone, and the good Earth is rich and can provide for everyone
The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way
Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed
We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in
Machinery that gives us abundance has left us in want

Our knowledge has made us cynical
Our cleverness, hard and unkind
We think too much, and feel too little
More than machinery, we need humanity
More that cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness
Without these qualities life will be violent, and all will be lost

The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together
The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men – cries out for universal brotherhood – for the unity of us all
Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world – millions of despairing men, women, and little children – victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people
To those who can hear me, I say – do not despair
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed – the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress
The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people
And so long as men die, liberty will never perish

Soldiers!
Don’t give yourselves to brutes – men who despise you – enslave you – who regiment your lives – tell you what to do – what to think and what to feel!
Who drill you – diet you – treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder
Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men – machine men with machine minds and machine hearts!

You are not machines!
You are not cattle!
You are men!
You have the love of humanity in your hearts!
You don’t hate!
Only the unloved hate – the unloved and the unnatural!

Soldiers!
Don’t fight for slavery!
Fight for liberty!
In the 17th Chapter of St Luke it is written: «the Kingdom of God is within man» – not one man nor a group of men, but in all men!
In you!
You, the people have the power – the power to create machines
The power to create happiness!
You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure
Then – in the name of democracy – let us use that power – let us all unite
Let us fight for a new world – a decent world that will give men a chance to work – that will give youth a future and old age a security
By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power
But they lie!
They do not fulfill that promise
They never will!
Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people!

Now let us fight to fulfill that promise!
Let us fight to free the world – to do away with national barriers – to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance
Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness
Soldiers!

I find this photo intriguing. My reason tells me that it’s fake, but it looks so real. What do you think?

The stars look so bright and the light coming up from the crater too perfect. I think it’s photoshopped. Not fake, just enhanced, IMO.

My inquiring mind wants to know: how did they get down there without the proper equipment to climb down and back up?Second mistake: those rocks are probably extremely slippery, and the woman and men in the photo have their hands on their pockets! hahaha, no way ….mmmm, I’d say it is totally photoshopped. The funny thing is that thousands of people all over Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest think that it is true. What do you think friends? I might be wrong.

Don’t believe every photo you see, it could very well be photoshopped! But let’s not forget that having fun trumps bad photoshopping. So, if you like photoshopping, go ahead, it’s fun after all, especially when it’s well done. Hey, as long as it doesn’t hurt or cause harm to anybody, I don’t see any problem with it. I like it, just for fun or inspiration. Some of them -photoshopped pictures- can be really amazing and even motivating and relaxing.

Let  your heart flow in the midst of compassion and honesty. Hate destroys and corrupts, and it is better to keep it away from our minds and our homes.

Instead, think of goodness towards your human fellow, the animals and insects that beautify your garden: butterflies, birds. They will beautify your soul too.

Violence? Hate? No, I Am Not Interested One Bit!

Violence and hate: brutal behavior and intense aversion coming from extreme anger. That is the definition of two barbarousness acts and feelings happening in our world. And I don’t want any part of it.

I reject all lack of kindness in my life. Because that is no way to live.

My life is too precious to waste it having resentment, hate, being violent or unkind. That is why is imperative to me to be surrounded by people who embrace the same values I do.

I want: peace, loyalty, honesty, respect, compassion, kindness, sincerity. I want to give it all, I want to get it all. It goes both ways, remember that.

The more we watch violent TV shows, play bloody games where killing is the goal. The more we participate in digital conversations spreading hate and attacking others -that many times we don’t even know physically-, the more damage we cause to our brain and our general well being.

I choose happiness, I choose love. I say no to violence, I say no to hate.

4) What are my strengths/weaknesses? What do these tell me about my purpose?

5) If I have a sense of my purpose, am I actively seeking to engage in it? If not, what is holding me back or standing in my way?

Religion God Science Fear or Hope?

First Do Not Harm

When we are born our parents or caretakers try to teach us what they were taught by their parents.

Most of us were told that there is a God in heaven and that if we are good girls or boys we will go there one day. Later (if our parents were kind enough not to scare us with the existence of hell at a very young age), when we grow up a little they tell us that there is a place with flames and very hot where people who misbehave go when they die.

Do They Exist?

I think this idea of heaven and hell is taught in one way or another pretty much by all religions. Fear and hope.

I grew up believing in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Yes, Catholic, in Mexico. I even went 12 years to a Catholic school, full of beautiful, funny and sometimes angry nuns if anyone of us dared to upset them! But, seriously, I had a great time there. I remember my life being very happy at primary and secondary school with the nuns.

Then, when I went to medical school my brain started to ask many questions to science. I learned, My curiosity grew. I studied more and my questions expanded in number and complexity. Decades have gone by and I still have thousands of questions. I have found the logical answer for many of them, and yet, many still without an answer.

But it’s okay. Curiosity has made me learned so much about the brain and many other areas of science, that the more I learn the more doubts I have. It’s a beautiful curiosity vicious cycle!

Yes, I do not believe anymore in what my wonderful nuns from my childhood and my parents taught me about their religious God. I am one hundred percent irreligious. But I don’t pretend to know the whole truth. Even science makes mistakes.
