Hey Doc, this reminds me of Margaret Atwood’s novel, The Handmaid’s Tale. When they capture the women and are about to send them off to postings where there’s religiously backed organized rape. During their indoctrination one of the Aunts says, “Freedom to and Freedom From. In the days of anarchy, it was freedom to. Now you are being given freedom from. This may not seem ordinary to you know, but in time it will.”
Oh man, this is exactly why I hate religion: «there’s religiously backed organized rape.» It’s all bad and evil. Thanks for sharing that.
I actually wrote a comparison paper once on this novel and it was the first time I ever had the privilege of presenting my research at an international conference. I appreciate your post!
