Shameless Promotion Wednesday for Everybody!

FRIEND ME ON FACEBOOK

OFFSHOREWRITER

Wednesday, the day of the week for all of us to just put our links in the comment section and start the “shameless promotion” idea. I want it to be fun and rewarding for everyone!. Just write the URL to your website or any social media of your preference.

NOTE: I will be adding the links you write on the comment section to this post in the upper section, the beginning, for more Google crawling. I will start with my link for this week to show you.

Promoting your website is very important to make yourself known in the digital world. The more you market yourself, your website and your social media, the more Google crawling, the more visitors to your site you will get.

So, if you blog for fun, hobby, business, eCommerce or professional knowledge, or because you just love to blog and write your ideas and chat with people in the comment section, you need to let the world know you exist, and one very useful way is to use links and make that other blogs link you back.

I have reserved this day for promotion, indefinitely, as long as it gets a good response from you and you like it. Just give it time. Be patient. It works!

I am going to be so proud of me when I am 100+ years old! Not far to get there, 58 tomorrow, April 18. But I am accepting virtual gifts, celebrations and best wishes starting today!

Even though my work is essential and I can go outside taking all precautions, -social distancing etc-, people are dying around the world, non-essential businesses closed. All this changes ones reality, but it still important to celebrate things in life.

So please, feel free to congratulate me today and tomorrow 😅 Thank you, my virtual friends. I love you all!

New Blogger Day in WordPress: Contemplation Adorable Chickens and More!

NEW BLOGGER IN WORDPRESS:

I find this post by Michele Pruitt so cute, I couldn’t resist to show you her pictures and what she is all about in her new blog: Contemplation

But before I share with you one of the brand new posts, I want to welcome her to this wonderful world of blogging in WordPress.

                            CHICKENS IN THE YARD

I love having chickens in the backyard. Besides being interesting, noisy, and colorful, they provide my family with delicious eggs. It is also amazing to watch a hen sit on her eggs and hatch baby chicks!

Chickens do have personalities that are unique, some let you carry them around while others like to sit on your shoulder. They even get along with cats!

Overall, I like all kinds of birds, but i do love having and caring for chickens.

Breaking Record again in My WordPress Blog Posts 149 Likes in One Day!

Let’s see, I have been writing blog posts since 2005. But it was in 2008 when I discovered WordPress and since then this platform has been my digital home. Of course, the domain has changed through out the years, but it is until recently that I found the perfect domain name for me. I like the way it is and I am planning to keep it the same.

Who writes a blog and doesn’t pay attention to the «likes» one receives? The more your blog is read the better is for you, unless you are writing a private blog for another purpose.

So, I am proud to announce that yesterday WordPress notified me that I broke my old record of 148 per day. I got 149, which makes me want to write more often, be consistent with my blog, promote it, interact with all of you, be grateful with all my followers for their loyalty through out the years. Thank you!

Community Pool … Where Has It Gone? I Miss It Bring it Back on 2019!

community pool dra martha castro tijuana mexico california usa

Yes, indeed, I miss the Community Pool in the Blogosphere of WordPress.

There was lots of interaction and communication. I got to chat with many bloggers and know their experiences and points of view.

Also, everybody could check each others blogs, give advices and opinions about how to improve them. I hope WP brings it back, or another similar idea would be nice.

Welcome to the final edition of the Community Pool!

Whether you’ve been a regular here for years or just recently discovered the Pool: thank you for making it such a supportive, lively, and collegial place for bloggers of all stripes.

As always, feel free to share links to your latest post for feedback, or ask a question about your site’s design, publishing cadence, or any other blogging-related topic you’re looking for input on.

Since this will be the last time the Pool opens its doors, you’re also welcome to chat with others about any community initiatives you’re interested in starting or share links to existing blogging events you’re part of and think others might be interested in as well. — Ben Huberman

Karma Is Not a Bitch – A #402

karma dra martha castro

“What goes around comes around” is the phrase that comforts most people when they’re in an unfair situation or any other situation in which they have no control over.

If you ask most people what karma is all about they will say something like, “It is punishment for past wrongs.” Or “What you do to others will come back to you.”

INSTANT KARMA

The concept of karma is very old and has its origin in ancient India. However, many Buddhist and Hinduist schools of thought use different definitions.

However, many people still have a need for an outside authority that punishes and rewards. This is apparent in the way many religions are still interpreted and practiced.

For generations, our ancestors believed in a judging and punishing god. Subconsciously we still project the image of a judging authority on a teacher, a set of religious or philosophical beliefs, or a concept like karma. This way, we just take away the old judging deity and replace it with another.

It’s seen as a sort of cause and effect; a universal system of justice against your crimes.

In fact, some people count on it for vengeance.

The original Buddhist idea of karma based on reincarnation is even more problematic with respect to evidence.

Nothing out of the ordinary happens much. Everything happens for a reason, sure, but that reason hasn’t been proven to be a spiritual or a mystical one. Everything happens for a reason because of cause and effect. That cause and effect is determined by probability.

In history, there have been legions of people who have done good deeds for their families and other people while still living lives of quiet desperation. What do infants do to deserve being abandoned by their parents, or being killed in car accidents?

At the other end, there are despotic leaders like Stalin and predatory criminals like Jack the Ripper who got to the end of their lives without any particularly dire consequences.

These examples do not prove that there is no such thing as karma, but should combine with the lack of evidence for karma to support the conclusion that karma is just a myth. The belief that what goes around comes around is just wishful thinking.

CONCLUSION: Karma is not a bitch. It is a myth. It doesn’t exist.
