Addressing the nation, Sheinbaum drew a direct line through Mexico’s history of standing up to foreign intervention. From the resistance following the 1810 independence movement to the U.S. invasion of 1846–1848—which forced Mexico to cede over half of its territory—she reminded the crowd that independence was hard-fought.
«Mexico will never be a colony or a protectorate of anyone,» she stated, making it clear that national autonomy remains non-negotiable.
