   1. Yes, Linda. A triangle has 3 sides. If you start from the top, there are 6, 3 when you count from left to right, then, 2 in the middle of those 3 and finally, the triangle that involves all of them, the outer one.
      So, those are 6, then you go with the next level, and you count the same, 6. Finishing with the bottom level which has 6 triangles also: 6 x 3 = 18
